South America's first citizenship-by-investment programme. A second nationality, a passport of genuine reach, and a home beneath the southern sky — from US$350,000.
On 2 October 2026, Minister of Economy Luis Caputo and Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli unveiled Argentina's Citizenship by Investment Programme before an audience of global investors in Paris.
It is the first programme of its kind in South America — a direct path to Argentine nationality for qualified investors and their families, administered by a dedicated Citizenship by Investment Programmes Agency, with final approval resting with Argentina's National Directorate of Migration.
“Argentina today is a beacon of freedom and investment in the world.”

The Government has set out two clear mechanisms for the principal applicant. Every dollar moves through the formal financial system.

The eighth-largest nation on earth. From the boulevards of Buenos Aires to the vineyards of Mendoza and the silence of Patagonia, Argentina is a country of scale, culture and appetite.

An Argentine passport opens visa-free or simplified access to about 170 destinations, including the Schengen Area, Japan and the UAE.*
Your Argentine ID card works as a travel document across most of South America, and after five years as a citizen the Mercosur residence framework opens a streamlined path to live and work across the region.
Argentina generally does not require naturalised citizens to renounce an existing nationality. Add a citizenship — lose nothing.
Spouses, young adult children and minors may join the application — a single strategic decision for the whole family.
*Indicative, per leading passport indices; travel access changes over time. A visa is still required for the United States and Canada.

In June 2026 Argentina's National Electoral Chamber ruled against the 2025 decree that created the investment route, and the Government has appealed to the Supreme Court, saying the decree remains in force meanwhile. Applicants should follow the appeal closely and take independent legal advice.
